Quick and Dirty Sage Guide

A simplified guide to streamline your understanding of the sage class. It can be pretty intimidating starting at level 70 with so many new spells at your disposal‚ and the tooltips can be unnecessarily wordy. Here I will break it down in a much easier to understand way.

1: Most Important Core Abilities

Kardia is your main trick. Slap this bad boy on the tank (or whoever you want‚ including yourself. i’m not your mom) and every time you deal damage to an enemy‚ a % of that damage number is healed to your Kardia target. It does NOT need to be reapplied‚ it’s like a tank stance.

Dosis is your basic single-target attack. It’s pretty straightforward.
Diagnosis is your basic single-target heal‚ and Prognosis is your basic AOE heal.

Eukrasia is your next hat trick‚ and is incredibly important. Allow me to direct your attention to one of your gauges:

When you trigger Eukrasia‚ this gauge (left one default, inactive) will light up (like the right one‚ active). Eukrasia is important because it changes the function of your three basic abilities:

(for ease of typing, "Eukrasian" will be replaced with the shorthand "Euk." from now on)Euk. Dosis is your DOT (damage over time)(I always called it something else until I learned the phrase, but now I don't remember what it was). It lasts 30 seconds. The damage it deals also ties into the Kardia effect! That's HOT (healing over time).Euk. Diagnosis heals slightly less than regular Diagnosis, but in addition, it adds a shield* onto the target to nullify incoming damage up to a certain extent. The shield lasts 30 seconds, or until depleted. For personal shorthand, I just refer to it as "shield".Euk. Prognosis does the same thing, except its an AOE: EVERYONE (in range) gets a shield. For personal shorthand, I refer to it as "aoe shield".*Have you ever played Dungeons and Dragons? Are you familiar with the function of Temporary Hit Points? To simplify it, thats how Euk. Diagnosis and Prognosis shields work. Also: Euk. Diagnosis and Prognosis cannot stack with each other, or with Scholar's Galvanize.

Now technically there are other abilities that should be ordered closer to the front on your default hotbar, but I'm going to skip them briefly to address a very important ability that relates to Euk. Diagnosis and PrognosisMy good boy Pepsis

Pepsis (aka Pepsi) is useless on its own. The function is that, when activated, it removes the Euk. Diagnosis and Euk. Prognosis effects you granted to yourself or other targets, including the shields. In exchange, it heals the affected targets for large amounts. It has no effect on any targets who did not have any Euk. buffs. Testing required to see if it will affect targets under Euk. buffs granted by other sages. I consider it to be important enough to be part of the "Core Abilities" chapter. We now return to normal ablility order, thank you for your time.

Lets pick up with some more Core Abilities: Egeiro and Physis.

Egeiro is the Sage's raise ablility. That's it. Pretty straightforward. Does nothing else. Moving on.Physis is the basic AOE HOT (healing over time)(if thats not already a thing, I'm making it a thing). It lasts 15 seconds, and cooldown is 60 seconds.

2: Lets Make It Weird

Ok, lets pick it up with some of the weirder, more unique abilities.

Soteria grants you a stack of buffs, conveniently also called
Soteria. Each stack increases the amount healed to your Kardia target.

Icarus is a handy movement ability. It allows you to quickly move next to a targeted party member or enemy, letting you zip out of danger zones faster than on foot. You do still have to be fairly close to the target in the first place, within 25y.

Alright, time to learn about the Sage's second guage: Addersgall. You can have up to three charges of Addersgall, and they regenerate over time by themselves, no input needed from you. Your Addersgall charges are represented by the three ovals, which will be lit up blue when they're full.

Now here's our next stage of ablities: the ones relevant to the Addersgall guage.Druochole is a BIG single-target heal, its really handy for those "oh shit" healer moments when you [cough] forgot about the tank for a second [cough]. It goes instantly, and has a 1 second cool down. Very good. Costs one Addersgall charge.Kerachole is an AOE that gives your party members in range a small defense buff for 15 seconds. Also grants regen. It costs one Addersgall charge.Ixochole is an AOE, big "oh shit" heal. Does not provide any additional benefits that are worth noting in this "quick and dirty" guide. Costs one Addersgall charge.Taurochole is a big single-target heal, slightly bigger than Druochole. However, it is not interchangeable: it has a 45 second cooldown, so use it wisely. It also grants a small, brief, defense buff. Costs one Addersgall charge.

Zoe increases the healing magic potency of your next healing ability by 50%. Best used in combination with Taurochole, when you find yourself in a pinch, but ultimately just use your best judgement.
......... I always forget about it.........

Dyskrasia is one of your AOE attacks. That's right, ONE of, you get MORE!... you only get two, BUT how many other healing classes can boast that?I digress; it is centered on you, and affects all the enemies in a small radius around you. It also affects the healing given to your Kardia target, so its real handy with large groups of enemies.

Time for an update to the Addersgall guage: now with Addersting! Addersting charges do not refill automatically.
